English 11C:  Class worked on vocabulary and then began reading the first half of "The Last Husky" in Tigers of the Snow.

English 12D: Class had time to work on their individual odes.  These odes are due on Friday.  Then class read "Ulysses" poem in the Theme and Image II and prepared notes for the in class paragraph on Friday.  Paragraph Topic:  Discuss the character of Ulysses as revealed in the poem.  Write the paragraph the same way as done for short stories.

English 12D:  Class worked on preparing for the in class essay that will be written on Tuesday.  Topic:  Who experienced more tragedy in his life, Chris in "Horses of the Night" (Story and Structure) or Hamlet?  Set up the essay by categories (remember, Tears, Idle Tears paragraph).  Include three quotes, one for each body paragraph.  Give act and scene if you are quoting from Hamlet.  You may bring in any notes, the play, etc. that you need to write the essay.

English 11C:  Class worked on a letter describing the banquet scene in Macbeth.  Marks will be given for authentic presentation of this letter.  In other words not a lined sheet of paper and not word processed in Times New Roman.  Use your imagination.  CSI Investigation assignment due today.

English 12D: Class read to the end of Act 4, scene 5, then watched a scene of mad Ophelia on the dvd.  Paragraph assigned:  Contrast the madness of Ophelia with the madness of Hamlet.  Due on Tuesday, Nov. 27.  Obituary of Polonius due on Monday, Nov. 26.

English 11C:  Computer time was given to the class to work on CSI murder investigation for Macbeth.  This is the second work period and no further class time will be given.  Assignment is due on Friday, November 23.

English 11C:  Class watched Duncan's death scene in the movie Macbeth.  Then class began working on a CSI crime scene investigation assignment of the murder.  Assignment will be due on Friday, November 23.  More class time will be given on Monday for this assignment.

English 12A:  Class read Act 2, scene 1 of Hamlet.  Assignment:  Prepare director's notes for the costume department and the actor:  How would a modern Hamlet be dressed to convince the audience he is crazy?  How would a modern Hamlet behave?  Also decide what actor would play the part.
Due to a mix-up, this class will have Memory book time on Tuesday rather than today.

English 10B:  Remembrance Day assembly.  Time for write up of A Day in the Life of a Sa-Hali Student.

English 12D:  Class attended a presentation on "Me to We", then worked on their essay.  Time is booked for Thursday to word process essay.  Essay due on Friday, Oct. 26.

English 12A:  "Horses" paragraphs were returned.  Rewrites due tomorrow.  Paragraph on "The Destructors" assigned.  Question 4, page 64.  Choose any 3 from a-f as the three Subtopics for the paragraph.  Disregard the final part of this question.  Paragraph due Thursday, Sept. 20.  More time will be given in class tomorrow to work on this paragraph.

English 10B:  Class completed worksheets on Character Presentation and Writing Style.  Creative composition assigned.  Rewrite a scene from "Denton's Daughter" choosing one of the following:  Kathy's point of view when she sees the photo of Evelyn; Buck's father's point of view when he sees Buck's report card; Mr. Denton's point of view when Buck approaches him about his History mark. 
Paragraph due Thursday, Sept. 20.  More time will be given in class tomorrow to work on this assignment.

English 11C:  Class took notes on the Essay and then worked on writing thesis sentences.

English 12 D:  Class discussed "Horses of the Night".  Questions 1,2,4, 5 & 7 were assigned.  Questions due for Monday.  I will be collecting and marking one of the questions.

English 12 A:  Class read "Horses of the Night", then began working on a worksheet correcting grammatically incorrect sentences.  Worksheet to be completed for Monday.
