English 11C: Class had class time to work on their myth story: why the sun is round; why some trees lose their leaves in fall; why the moon shines at night; or why snow falls in winter.

THIS WEEK IS THE LAST WEEK TO HAND IN MISSING WORK AS I WILL HAVE NO TIME TO MARK LATE WORK IN JANUARY.
English 12A: Class completed worksheets on Nellie McClung and Dr. Bethune. Then worked on a literary terms worksheet.
English 10B: Class worked on essay outline for "The Metaphor". Essay will be written in class tomorrow.
English 11C: Class discussed "The Last Husky", then read "Ko-ishin-mit and Paw-quin-mit", answered questions and discussed in class.

English 11C: Class worked on vocabulary and then began reading the first half of "The Last Husky" in Tigers of the Snow.
English 12D: Class had time to work on their individual odes. These odes are due on Friday. Then class read "Ulysses" poem in the Theme and Image II and prepared notes for the in class paragraph on Friday. Paragraph Topic: Discuss the character of Ulysses as revealed in the poem. Write the paragraph the same way as done for short stories.

English 10B: Class finished reading The Metaphor; then sketched the metaphor of Miss Hancock and any metaphor of the mother. Time will be given in class tomorrow to finish the sketches.

English 11C: Class took notes on the elements of a short story. Students who were absent this class must get the notes from a fellow student. Vocabulary to look up for Monday: resplendent, batteries (military meaning), enunciated, disdainful, preposterous, sodden.
English 12D: Class discussed questions on "English as a Second Language", then worked on a worksheet for "Dressed to Kill". Worksheet due on Monday. I will be marking the arguments on the back of the worksheet.

English 11C: Class watched the end of Macbeth, then prepped for the in class essay on Macbeth. The essay will be written tomorrow. Students may bring in any notes they make, the play, etc. to help them write the essay. This essay must be written in order to meet several of the essential learning outcomes for the course.
Topics for essay: Who is the stronger character, Macbeth or Lady Macbeth?
Is Macbeth or the witches responsible for Macbeth's downfall in the play?
